House of Hadassah

House of Hadassah

House of Hadassah is the first planned rescue initiative of the Camp David programme – a Christian-based youth outreach initiative dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, educating, caring for, nurturing the talents of, and economically empowering vulnerable young people in Nakuru Kenya.

The project will provide a safe place for young adults to be equipped for independent living after they have aged out of existing care arrangements. Five young ladies have been identified to take the initial places.

In addition to meeting their basic practical needs, house parents will mentor, support and help facilitate education for the participants until they have become independent or until alternative safe arrangements have been made for them.

The Vision

Rooted in the Christian values of compassion, transformation and dignity, the Camp David program seeks to restore hope and build pathways for holistic development for participants. The initiative is a response to the growing crisis facing young people in Kenya—rising addiction, exploitation, unemployment, school dropout, and limited access to mental health and spiritual support.

Across the country, many youths face social and economic challenges including:
• drug and substance abuse
• poverty and unemployment
• early pregnancies and exploitation
• school dropout and limited learning opportunities
• lack of mentorship, spiritual grounding, and life skills
• family instability and weak community support

These challenges leave many young people vulnerable to hopelessness, crime, and generational poverty. Yet they also reveal a powerful opportunity: with the right guidance, community, and faith‑centered support, young people can rise above these obstacles and build purposeful, resilient lives.

This initiative seeks to help ignite that transformation—empowering youth with the tools, values, and support they need to thrive. See the linked PDF for more information on Project One: House of Hadassah
