Operation Arise

Operation Arise

Operation Arise brings hope and light to society’s most vulnerable and helpless, particularly within the local community of Nakuru.

Led by husband-and-wife team Alvin and Joy Njoroge, the project is committed to meeting immediate practical needs such as food, clothing, emergency and medical treatments. The project also recognises that true and lasting transformation must also address emotional and spiritual brokenness.

As contractors of Esther’s Heart, Alvin and Joy serve families and individuals with compassion, responding to needs both simple and complex—from providing school supplies to help a final-year student complete their exams, to mobilising support for families recovering after devastating fires in the Nakuru slums, to establishing partnerships with NGOs and government agencies, to advocating for those suffering exploitation.

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.” — Isaiah 60: 1-2 (NIV)

The Vision

At the heart of the Arise project is a deep passion for mentorship. Alvin and Joy believe that hope and freedom are found through Jesus and His Word, the ultimate remedy for every social ill. Therefore they labour to equip children and young people with an understanding of God’s Word, whether through one-on-one relationships or group mentorship, empowering them to walk in purpose and resilience. As Scripture affirms, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Project Arise is grounded in loving people in whatever way is needed, reflecting God’s love through practical service and genuine relationship. This commitment flows from the belief that God’s love is made visible through His people.

“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” — 1 John 4:12 (NIV)
